Ed Glaize came to serve as the Dothan District Superintendent after serving as the senior pastor of the Fairhope United Methodist Church for four years. Prior to helping to lead that great church, Ed pastored the First United Methodist Church of Brewton, AL for 10 years, the Tallassee, AL First United Methodist Church for seven years and was on staff at Frist United Methodist Church of Montgomery for 7 years. While in seminary, he was the student local pastor at the Beulah United Methodist Church. Ed is a graduate of Huntingdon College, where he received a B.A. in History and Math; Emory University with a Masters of Divinity, and Columbia Theological Seminary for his doctorate. Prior to answering God’s call to ministry, Ed served as a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Air Force.
Helping congregations discover their purpose is a passion of Ed’s. He also is thrilled to help people become passionate about Jesus. Ed enjoys college athletics, (particularly Auburn), Braves baseball, being in the outdoors, tending to his pack of dogs, and spending time with his wife, Alecia and daughter Anna Grace. His family endured a profound loss in September 2018 as their son Curtis was killed in an automobile accident. The grace of God and the love of many people have helped them endure their pain.
